Bamboo Collection - Wear Bamboo, Plant Bamboo

This collection is a tribute to the beauty, strength, and versatility of bamboo, the noble tree-like grass that has been called “nature’s gift to mankind”.

Every piece represents a certain number of bamboo seedlings planted by John Hardy on the island of Nusa Penida, off the coast of Bali, with the number of seedlings carefully engraved on the inner surface (note this in the picture above of the Batu Bamboo bangles). Because bamboo helps improve air quality and guards against soil erosion, people can participate in caring for the natural environment by wearing pieces from the Bamboo collection.

The silver bangles shown are available with different colored semi-precious gemstones or in all silver without the gemstones.

While traveling in japan, creative director and head designer Guy Bedarida discovered the “Buddha belly” bamboo, a shorter, more intricate bamboo variation with knots and an undulating triangular shape.

The plump, organic shapes of the bamboo are translated quite literally for this collection, as though a shoot of the bamboo were carefully twisted around the wrist. Many of the pieces, like the cuffs above, are accented with gemstones, meant to sparkle like raindrops in a bamboo grove.
